25 July was World Drowning Prevention Day 🌊
Everyone can drown, but no one should. Here are some easy and affordable ways to reduce drowning risks:
1️⃣ Teach children to swim. Basic swimming and water safety skills greatly reduce the risk of drowning.
2️⃣ Make sure children are always watched closely by an adult when around water; whether near a pond, river, beach, swimming pool or bathtub.
3️⃣ Always wear a lifejacket when traveling on water, no matter your level of swimming ability.
4️⃣ Be aware of weather conditions and safety equipment before traveling by boat.
5️⃣ Learn how to perform rescue and resuscitation, if this is something you’re able to do.
