Top 5 Goal keepers in the World!
There is no debate on who the best goalkeeper at this moment in football is. It’s Manuel Neuer!! He is the most famous “sweeper keeper” in modern day football. His starting position is outside the penalty area when his team has possession in the opposition’s half (at times even at the centre of pitch!). He has excellent shot stopping ability, intercepts long balls, makes first time pass, can keep the ball and knows some tricks to evade the attacker. He is indeed the best goalkeeper of this generation! The image above gives you a glimpse of his bravery…
This Video will give you a good idea what Manuel Neuer is all about: –
In 2015 Keylor Navas was being exchanged for the arrival of David De Gea at the Bernabeau. However, Madrid failed to complete the process before the deadline day and Keylor stayed at Real Madrid! Today he is one of the first names on the team sheet and is a fan favorite.
The tables turned and the once deemed unwanted for the team turned out to be one of their strongest. Throughout the season 2015-16 he proved everyone wrong by his stellar performances. From a bench warmer to the first choice keeper and an integral part of Real Madrid champions league winning… Navas has earned the tag of a world class goalkeeper by his excellent shot stopping ability! He stands out from the rest because he stood for himself, when no one believed in him and presented the world a genuine fighter!

He is called as the “Gigi” (Superman), Buffon at the age of 37 is still carrying the captain’s armband for both Juventus and Italy. and there is no stopping this legend..! Even at hisage he is still delivering and consistent with his performances – just what a world class keeper does!
He kept the clean sheets for league record 973mins in Serie A and kept 22 clean sheets throughout the 2015-16 equaling the league record. There no goalkeeper of Buffon’s age who is on par with him. His passion, his consistency and his inspirational leadership for the club and country makes him stand out from the rest!

Who has been Manchester United’s best player in last 2-3 seasons?
None other than David De Gea.!!
Big “Dave” as he is fondly called, moved from Atletico Madrid to Manchester United in 2011! After having a rather difficult start to his Goal Keeping career at Manchester United, He has improved by leaps and bounds and has been named United’s best player for second consecutive year now Throughout the season : be it the premier league or FA cup, the Champions league or the Europa league, De Gea has been consistent with his shot stopping ability throughout the past 2 seasons. He made some big saves and single handedly even saved few matches for the Red Devils.
Manchester United have a legacy of great keepers but they were never so dependent one as they were on De gea in last 2 seasons. He kept knocking the doors of the Spainish national team with his performances that, in Euros legendary Iker Casillas was left on the bench and De Gea was named first choice for Spain! Head held high and feet on the ground… De gea is now hailed as one of the best in the game!

Marc’s inclusion might seem surprising to a few but trust me this guy is nothing short of world class! Even though He is not the first choice for Germany, and Barcelona uses different keepers for different competitions (Bravo for league and Ter Stegen for cup competitions) his exceptional technical ability is still evident.
Barcelona is known for their tiki taka and silky passes.
Well… Ter Stegen challenges the pass masters! Yes, he is known for his ball distribution. Here’s an example
This graphic is from Arsenal vs Barcelona 2015 champions league round of 16 where he gave a top class performance. The German completed 34/36 of passes with 94% succession rate; which is exceptional for a goalkeeper. And yes, he was German league’s goalkeeper of the season 2011-12, UEFA Champions league team of the season 2014-15 and his spectacular “goal-line” save v/s Bayern Munich, in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final was named the save of the season. Ter Stegen is clearly World class…!!
