The world’s highest tennis court is atop Dubai’s Burj al Arab. At about 690 feet, the grass court offers panoramic view of Dubai and a thrilling match. Roger Federer and Andre Agassi played a tennis match on the helipad – converted – court as part of a publicity stunt for the ATP’s Dubai Duty Free Men’s Open.
Astor Courts, once called The Ferncliff Casino, was constructed for John Jacob Astor IV and his wife, Ava in 1902. A Beaux Arts building, designed by the famous American architect, Stanford White with his firm McKim Mead and White. Astor Courts was originally intended by the Astors as a sporting pavilion, with guest bedrooms, for the many notable people who visited the estate.

After the highest tennis court, Dubai plans to venture underwater. Polish architect Krysztof Kotala has proposed an underwater tennis court offshore in the Persian Gulf, between the Burj al Arab and the Palm Jumeirah islands in the United Arab Emirates. The structure would house seven courts, each with a rooftop coral reef design. If sanctioned, it would give spectators a hard time in deciding whether to watch Tennis or the marine life.
